Faded Rose Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is fabulous (and fresh), the wait staff are perfect and the atmosphere is down to earth and very comfortable. Try it. You'll like it too.
This was a great place great food & great waiter, that explained each dish & recommend some dishes, that were amazing, we enjoyed it very much & will definitely be back, next time in Little Rock Ar
It’s been many years since I have been here. Looks just the same as it did back then. Food was good overall and well priced. My favorite dish was the gumbo. It is a Creole style (tomatoes) and more of a broth heavy gumbo with less roux than you might see in a traditional Cajun style. Flavor profile was nice, nothing overpowering and minimal oil. Soaked salad was also a traditional New Orleans style dish that you just don’t see up here very often. Fried catfish chips were a fun concept, a bit heavy on the sodium but they mellowed out with the home made ranch dressing. Shrimp and grits were served over a fried grit cake similar to a polenta. Lots of sauce and very colorful. Lastly was the red beans which could use some additional umami/flavor but I’m being critical. Overall a great lunch experience. My server did a great job, her timing throughout the meal couldn’t have been better.
I’ve known about this restaurant ever since their other location on Bowman. This restaurant now resides off Cantrell going towards the BIG DAM BRIDGE. The new location greets you with the front patio which is available if the inside isn’t what you want. Going inside you have a full bar but limited seating in my opinion. I feel this establishment needs more seating but only because this establishment is so good. That’s my only complaint and I mean only complaint other than that I went for brunch and I was able to sit in and little corner by myself and the atmosphere is peaceful and settling. Hearing the guys at the bar and the low conversation I was in chill mode and ready to eat. First I started with the buttered garlic frog legs which were so good. Frog legs I’ve tasted in the past had a tainted taste to them and I really shun away from the whole frog leg experience but the description made me curious to go ahead and try again. Y’all the meat was flavorful and the butter sauce just made them melt in your mouth. They came out hot and ready which made it even better. I had the snapper for my main meal with crawfish rice with crawfish tails within the rice. The service everytime I go is always on point. They are down to earth and it’s a laid back feel. I actually came for a dish I had a while ago which is a deep fried round crap with a sauce which I don’t remember the details but just ask them about it. Pics coming next time I go for dinner. This is a great place for everyone and kids included. Now the menu is not kid friendly and I’m not aware if they have a kids menu so heads up on that. Definitely put them on your list.
Very quaint restaurant with a welcoming staff. I ordered the Red Fish Ponchatrain which was a nice size and also loaded with plenty of crab as toppings. I also ordered cabbage as a side which had a nice spicy kick without being too hot. The creole vegetable soup was hit. Check this place out if you are in the area. I went on a Friday around 5 PM. It fills up fast so get there early for dinner.
Went back today and food was 10 out of 10 . Best tartar sauce around. The catfish was thin but great . I will add more photos as I keep going back. Yes I ordered a grilled cheese I'm weird , the grilled cheese small but tasty,Gumbo hot and dipping the bread into it was delicious.
Excellent southern style restaurant. Fun atmosphere. extensive menu with many options. Cheese sauce w nachos was a devine appetizer. I loved the fried green tomatoes, the cajun salad, and the red fish was cooked to perfection w some lemon butter sauce and shrimp Rice. Hot bread pudding dessert was excellent.
Came in from out of town and picked this place for the Cajun, New Orleans vibes! Atmosphere was definitely a bar, but themes and decor were adorable. We started with the Crab Cakes, one blackened and one fried for variety, very good but the blackened was better! We got drinks, Old Fashioned and the French 75, they were pretty strong. We had the NY Strip, cooked to the perfect temp. Came with a Creole salad, which was okay but needed some flavor, salt and pepper made it good. Picked the Smothered Cabbage (very yummy) and the Baked Potato (blue cheese butter is TOO good). Overall, very satisfied with what we had, and service was polite and friendly. Would eat here again!
